Girls Guide
Bangladesh Girls Guide Association is an organization of the Girl Guides, active since 1928. It became a member of the world association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1973 and is now the country’s largest national organization offering leadership training to girls and young women. The aim of the association is to develop the full potentials of girls and encourage them to actively participate in the life of their community. The association uses eight-point program for thrdevelopment of mind, character, physical fitness, outdoor enjoyment, relationship with people, creativity, readiness to help others, and home craft skills. The trainee girl guides are divided into three classes. : Yellow birds (age between 6 and 10 years), Guides (between 11 and 15 years), Rangers (between 16-26 years)
The college section of South Ballavpur School and College has a rangers unit. Ranger are the leading members of the family of guides. This unit was established in 2017. There are 15 members of student in this unit. This unit was organized to attend in various adventurous program such as camping, outdoor activities, to give service other community and volunteer organization. In future, the Rangers of this unit will take part different training courses, and plan various program. Apart from these Rangers volunteer in maintaining discipline in national programs, annual sports, freshers’ reception, farewell of the examinees and other important programs.
